What our customers say

We stopped at this hotel 23-27 July. Ages 38 and 40. After reading the write up on the hotel we thought it was a good choice and appeared to be centrally located, however upon arrival at the hotel the room we were given was very small, no fridge or telephone and very basic. Did not look anything like the pictures we had seen, but for the price thought that it was adequate. However on the second night we realised that this was an annexed room and the walls between it and next door were paper thin. We were subjected to a group of Italians shouting and laughing until 3am and they started again at 6am!! We went to reception and they were very obliging and offered us a move straight away. The next room was just like the pictures in the hotel brochure with fridge, telephone and much more space thereafter we had a very enjoyable stay however we did not spend much time in the hotel, basically just to sleep and shower and as previous reviews state this is not centrally located. You are a lot better stopping near the Termini, we found a lovely hotel there - Hotel Ariston which had a great bar too there were several others on the same street which all looked very good too. Only one of the bars at the Porta Maggiore was ever open and this was only at night time on the terrace, however we found the barman quite rude. It is true the bus stop and tram stops are just outside however the German Students seem to have taken to this hotel and make it rather noisy day and night and they all congregate in the piazza outside at night! With regard to Rome, yes the Terravision bus is easy to find and get tickets for to get to the Termini from the airport - however it you have not been to rome before please get a taxi straight to your hotel as the streets are very hard to follow even with maps and it takes a long time to find your hotel especially whilst pulling suitcases. You see a lot of people doing this and the easier option is definately a taxi straight to the door. Once in Rome and settled go on the 110 Open top Bus tour which shows you were everything is. Thereafter use a BIG ticket which lasts all day for €4 and you get on tram, bus or metro with it. Trevi Fountain is a definate must day and night. Overall loved Rome but would definately stay up near the Termini next time as the streets get rather quite after 10am and are not the nicest to walk down at the best of times.
