We were delighted when we clapped eyes on the Hotel Genio in Rome. It meant we'd actually arrived in one piece from the airport, despite the perilous taxi ride from the airport (for which we paid 70euro!). Never having been to Rome before, I'm glad I did my research in advance as the Hotel Genio was in the perfect location, a one minute walk from Piazza Novona. As I was on my own with two young children, I felt 100% safe spending all evening in Piazza Novona, and the brief walk back to the hotel was in constant use, so no worries! The street outside the hotel is noisier late at night than in the day, but if you close the windows you hardly hear anything. The staff were extremely helpful and more than competent. I felt a bit mean leaving a tip of only 3euro! Would recommend this hotel for the fantastic location, and fabulous staff!
